Is Lower Queen Anne a safe neighborhood?

I am looking in to jobs for being a nanny and I recently found a good one that is located in Lower Queen Anne, I live in Silverdale so I will be commuting by the way of Ferry and I was just wondering if this neighborhood was safe enough to walk around in and take the little girl I am with on walks or outings with. Thank you very much for your time and any information about parks or theaters as well as other things I can take a 3 year old to do around the area is MORE THAN welcomed.

There are several parts that are considered "lower Queen Anne". Does this family live on the side closer to the downtown, closer to Aurora, closer to Interbay or closer to Fremont.
I lived nearer Fremont and I loved it. Really Queen Anne is really safe because there are only a few ways off and on the hill - one of the safest places in the city. It is richie rich also. Walks during the day are safe. There are parts closer to downtown that are not necessarily unsafe at night but shouldn't be walking around with kids becuase it is definately cityish with lots of clubs and people of that sort out and about. If you are on the Fremont side, you can always walk into Fremont. There are also little parks that are along the water which are peaceful and located in a business park so you are always being watched. You could walk all the way to the top of the hill which is fairly rigourous with a 3 year old in a stroller but there is a park up there and a library and cute little shops. You could also drive to the top of the hill.
